Our Vision
RGV READS envisions a space for community members to come together for the goals of gathering and unlocking creative potential in a safe and welcoming environment where connections can be made, individuals can feel empowered and inspired to continue to learn and advance their reading and writing skills, and ultimately, express themselves in creative ways where their voices are heard and celebrated. Every story is important. Every person has the power within themselves to prosper, create, and become the best version of themselves. As a literary resource for the Rio Grande Valley, RGV READS will generate reading and writing workshops for all ages, collaborate with local artists for engaging events and exhibits, and distribute reading and writing resources throughout the RGV for the goal of preparing our community members with the opportunities for connection and appreciation of the power of self-expression through the arts.
Who We Are
RGV READS is a 501(c)(3) literary nonprofit with a mission to advance literacy skills by providing the opportunity to engage in creative expression and artistic appreciation.
We serve Rio Grande Valley communities with community engagements and events through a variety of collaborations and local programming.
